2018 UF Precision Medicine Conference – The Future is Now

Day 1: Thursday, March 8

  • 12:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.
  • Guidewell Innovation Center

The conference begins with an inspiring sweep of the current state and future potential of precision medicine through TED Talk-style keynote presentations. Interactive Q&A sessions will follow each presentation.

Day one of the conference will be held in the Innovation CoRE Theater, located in the Guidewell Innovation Center, a 9,000-square-foot facility with state-of-the-art resources.

The first day wraps up with an elegant reception in the Guidewell Innovation Center. Refreshments will be provided.


Day 2: Friday, March 9, 2018

  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • UF Research and Academic Center at Lake Nona (adjacent to the Guidewell Innovation Center)

Attendees will dig deeper into practice-based aspects of genetics and pharmacogenetics, including a review of the latest developments in cardiology, psychiatry, pain management, primary care, and oncology, with patient cases to provide clinical insights. A morning update on precision medicine from FDA and afternoon discussion of innovative pharmacogenetics practice models in primary care will round out the day.

Day two of the conference will be held at UF Research and Academic Center at Lake Nona, located adjacent to the Guidewell Innovation Center. This 110,000 square foot facility is home to more than 450 researchers in drug discovery and development from the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine.


Day 3: Saturday, March 10, 2018

  • 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • UF Research and Academic Center at Lake Nona (adjacent to the Guidewell Innovation Center)

Sessions will delve into the nuts and bolts of implementing pharmacogenetics in practice. In this half day of relaxed, interactive sessions, experienced early adopters of clinical pharmacogenetics will provide insight on lessons they have learned along the way, strategies to overcome common barriers, and tips for building a successful pharmacogenetics service.

Day three of the conference will continue at the UF Research and Academic Center at Lake Nona.
